The Inland Empire Journalism Hub is a network of locally-owned media organizations, independent journalists and media professionals dedicated to telling local stories for social impact and improving access to information in the Inland Empire.

We recognize the importance of accurate, timely, and impactful journalism in fostering a well-informed community and promoting positive change. Our mission is to empower the voices of the Inland Empire by providing a platform for authentic and diverse storytelling, fostering a culture of journalistic excellence, and driving positive social impact.

We envision a region where every resident has access to reliable and locally relevant news and information, empowering them to make informed decisions and engage in their communities.

REINVENTING THE PUBLIC SQUARE THROUGH COOPERATIVE JOURNALISM

Cooperative journalism has the potential to recreate the public square by fostering collaboration, inclusivity, and participatory engagement.

Traditionally a physical space for open dialogue and democratic exchange, the public square is evolving in the digital age. Cooperative journalism offers a promising avenue to recreate the public square by fostering collaboration, inclusivity, and participatory engagement.

By establishing a collaborative newsroom, engaging the public, promoting transparency and trust, leveraging technology, and strengthening media literacy, we can create an environment where diverse voices are heard, informed discussions thrive, and democracy flourishes.

Through this cooperative approach, we can revitalize the public square and ensure it remains a vibrant space for democratic dialogue in the digital era.
